Designed in accordance with European RCD requirements and CE certification, these regulations ensure that the Antarès 650 OB incorporates the minimum safety requirements including Safety and protection of persons on board.

The Antarès 650 OB is Bénéteau’s largest outboard engined Antarès. Her fishing roots are obvious and sailors will also appreciate the quality of her interior accommodation for short  cruises.

The Antarès 650 follows the latest advances of the Antarès range with her more fluid design. The curve of her rubbing strake and of the grey hull strip is echoed by that of the railing.

The hull is laid up in GRP. A structural inner moulding takes and absorbs all the stresses and ensures greater stiffness. The hull comes to the plane early, allowing high speeds  approaching 30 knots at maximum speed.

The deck is laid up in GRP. A partial inner deck moulding is fitted for a better finish, so that it looks better and is easy to clean. All working areas are provided with a non- slip diamond moulding.

The hull / deck joint is covered with a rubbing strake.

The stainless steel pulpit surrounds the deck with an opening to allow easy boarding over the bow. The stainless steel aft rail doubles as a backrest for the folding seat.

Cockpit fittings include the following:

• Folding stainless steel bathing ladder in locker.
• Cockpit hatch allowing access to the cockpit locker, fuel tank and battery.
• Fold down bench seat in stern.
• Backrest for seat doubles as leaning support for fishing when the seat is folded away.
• Teak capped cockpit coamings to port and starboard with 2 fishing rod holders and handrails. Mooring cleat is protected by the teak capping, facilitating fishing with nets.
• 2 aluminium fairleads.
• Transom with seating for outboard engine (maximum power 115HP).
• Space on transom for auxiliary motor of 6 HP maximum.
• Deck filler for fuel tank.
• 4 stainless steel handrails:
• - 2 by wheelhouse steps.
• - 2 on wheelhouse roof.

The self draining cockpit is fitted with a step for easy access to the side decks.

• 1 X 12V 110A battery available with Engine Pack only (and not supplied with basic hull).

• - Switch for bilge pump.
• - Switch for navigation lights.

The electrical panel is situated on the starboard side of the wheelhouse.

Navigation lights:

• All round light on folding mast (on the wheelhouse roof).
• Approved bi-colour sidelight (in forward part of windscreen).

Lighting:

- One deck head light each in cockpit, wheelhouse and cabin.

The boat is designed to take engines of up to 115HP.

Bénéteau offers three engine packages:

- 75HP Honda 4 stroke outboard - petrol: cruising speed (5000rpm) of 18 knots and maximum speed of 22½ knots approx.

- 90HP Honda 4 stroke outboard – petrol: cruising speed of 22 knots and maximum speed of 27 knots approx.

- 115HP Honda 4 stroke outboard – petrol: cruising speed of 23 knots and maximum speed of 29 knots approx.

NB: depending on the weather and boat’s load, results can differ markedly.

The fuel tank is of Roto moulded plastic, which is translucent and shock- resistant, with a capacity of 136L.

Three- blade aluminium propeller.

Fitted with:

• Glass windscreen with electric wiper.
• Tinted sliding opening PMMA side windows.
• Rear door in tinted PMMA with anodised aluminium frame.
• Opening hatch in wheelhouse roof and in fore cabin (400 x 530 mm).

Integral instrument panel with:

• - Tachometer.
• - Fuel tank gauge.
• - Trim indicator.
• - Wood steering wheel.
• - Steering compass.
• - Integral Suzuki engine control lever.
• - Cable steering to engine with anti- kick system.
• - Flat space forward provided for fitting of electronic equipment on mountings.
• Sliding rotomoulded driver’s seat mounted on built-in fish- box, which is accessible from the cockpit.
• Under driver’s seat a door gives access to a locker.
• Driver’s footrest.

GRP sink with manual pump and 20L jerry can. When not in use it can be covered with a removable panel, which serves as a small table that can be used for the gas hob available as an option. This space can be also used for a co- driver’s seat. For this it only needs the aft part of the saloon upholstery to be removed and put in place of the removable panel sink cover to convert the sink into a small bench seat.

The cabin is particularly well equipped for this type of boat. It comprises:

• Settee with cushions.
• Foldaway wood table which converts to a double berth. This table can be folded in two for easier movement around the cabin.
• Shelves to cabin sides built into the inner deck moulding.
• Marine toilet accessible under starboard part of berth.
• Opening hatch to coach roof.
• Due to its layout the cabin is spacious, light and perfectly ventilated.

• Gas hob with replaceable gas cartridges.
• Chemical toilet instead of marine toilet (no- cost option).
