CONSTRUCTION

HULL

The hull is "Air-step" for added comfort and increased performance.

It is laminated in solid GRP and the bottom of the hull is reinforced. A structural inner moulding is bonded and laminated to the hull at various points. Its structural role is important as it absorbs and spreads any loads and guarantees a reduced strain on the hull.

The hull colour is steel blue as standard.

DECK

The deck is sandwich construction (glass fibre / balsa / polyester resin) for better stiffness, optimum insulation and weight saving. An inner deckhead moulding reinforces the structure and improves the finish.

ON DECK

- Mooring and Anchoring -

• Mooring and anchoring are provided by :
• Tilting bow roller fitting
• A bow ring for towing (optional)
• Space for electric windlass (windlass optional)
• 5 x 200mm aluminium mooring cleats, one of which is in the anchor well
• Anchor well is self draining.

- Pulpits and Guardrails -

The Flyer 550 is fitted with a stainless steel pulpit open to the front.

-Cockpit -

The cockpit is self draining and comprises :

• Fish box
• GRP gunwales
• Two fixed rod holders in coaming
• Stowage for rods
• Cockpit shower

It is also fitted with a large number of seats to ensure optimum comfort :

• Foldaway upholstered bench seat aft
• 2 foldaway seats each side of the aft bench, increasing and making better use of space
• Bench seat forward built into the console with cushions and 2 sport handholds

Safety gear increased by :

• 2 multifunction gates that surround and secure the stern, and in addition serve as armrests or supports for fishing
• 2 handrails to port aft for safe access to the cockpit
• 2 stainless steel handrails to the stern for easier movement and safety

Also included are :

• Bathing platform aft with teak grating, locker to port for the bathing ladder and stowage locker to starboard.

- Helm position -

The helm position is equipped with a tinted PMA windscreen.

The instrument panel is built in to the console with tinted PMMA visor. The instrument panel is protected by a visor and compromises :

• (Depending on engine version) trim display, rev counter, fuel gauge
• electronic instruments including the latest Raymarine C6 display offered as part of the electronics pack

• Side pockets to keep essentials within easy reach
• Pivoting helmsman's and co-helmsman's height adjustable seats
• 3 sport handholds for the helmsman and co-helmsman's comfort, as well as a foot rest
• 3 spoked sports steering wheel
• Hydraulic steering for ease of manoeuvring
• Integral engine control levers
• 12 V socket (at same level as electric control panel)
• 1 cup holder.

- Console -

Access to the console is through a tinted, sliding PMMA door. There are :

• 2 ports built into the console
• Beech stained interior woodwork
• Storage shelves
• A place to fit a chemical or marine toilet (option)

- Engines -

The boat can be powered by a single engine ( 1 x 250 HP) with an ultra long shaft, or twin engines (2 x 140 HP) with an extra long shaft (see price list). The cover is supported by 2 gas struts.
